What to do in Laganas

Laganas is a clubbers paradise for anyone wanting to visit Zante,  there are many 18-30’s excursions on offer including booze cruises and bar crawls as well as free bars.  To get on them the best way to do it is by booking an Club 18-30’s holiday or by approaching the reps in resort and paying for the excursion you want.   The feedback we got was that the Booze cruise offered here is one of the best out of all the Greek islands that do 18-30’s so make sure you book this up.

Of course many people just choose to do their own thing within Laganas and you have a wealth of great bars and clubs to visit.  The biggest and most popular club in Laganas is Rescue Club, with excellent dance, trance and funky house music and top name celebrity DJs on course to play in 2010 including the likes of Dave Pearce, Pete Tong and many more.

There is also the likes of Medousa bar and Zeros Club both on the main strip of Laganas, offering a great party atmosphere and cheap deals on drinks including “Buy 1 Get 1 Free”  In Laganas there are 11 main nightclubs and about 23 bars all offering something different depending on your music tastes.  At the top of the main strip of Laganas you will find Plus Bar which does events like Hed Kandi and more.

If its a mix of music your looking for try  Waikiki bar for House, Garage and Drum ‘n’ Bass or Pink Panther for cheesy tracks as well as karaoke.  You also have Ghetto club which is still gong strong as one of the first clubs in the whole of Laganas.

If its sports bar you need you can visit Must Sports Bar which offers everything from live premiership games, rugby, cricket and golf.  There are plenty more bars and places to visit in Laganas and we dont want to spoil it so just make sure you explore as many bars and clubs that Laganas offers so you get the most out of your holiday.

After a hectic night clubbing on the streets of Laganas then you can retire to the beach, which gets very busy during the peak season, relax at the beach bars and sleep off that hangover.  There is some great entertainment offered by DJ Billy, one of his videos is on the right.

If you want to get out and explore the island, then go to Zante Water Village, or even visit the Smugglers Cove beach or go on a turtle watching boat trip.  There are no watersports at all in Laganas so if you want that you have to travel via bus to one of the other resorts.  The bus only costs a few euros to go anywhere on the island so just jump on and go exploring.

The airport transfer via coach only takes 10-15 minutes from Zakynthos airport, depending on how many hotel stops the coach makes.  Our advice is to hire a car or grab a tax from the airport to get straight to your hotel, and then straight out to the clubs or the beach.

Laganas - Travel Guide

Laganas is one of the most popular clubbing destinations in Greece.  Its famous for its great nightlife with people partying all through the night with a huge variety of clubs and pubs to suit everyone's tastes.  The beach of Laganas are long and sandy and perfect for relaxing after a hectic night on bar street.

Laganas is one of the main 18-30's resorts in the Greek islands and the only one on Zante, the hotels here are of a great standard and people come back to Laganas for the excellent friendly atmosphere and big name DJs that visit the likes of Rescue club and Zeros throughout the season.

Holidays to Laganas are well prices from the major tour operators and it only takes about 2 and a half hours to fly from the UK.  Its about a 10-15 minute coach trip from the main airport in Zante but a taxi is much quicker if you know where your going or staying.

Laganas is not all about clubbing though, there are some excellent places to eat while in Laganas, from great English bars to traditional Greek Taverna’s.  You can venture into some of the quieter resorts if your in Laganas for 2 weeks just to see something different.

If you want to go sightseeing around the island you can also take boat trips from Laganas to the likes of Smugglers Cove and the Blue Caves.  If your wanting to go further afield you can catch a flight or ferry to the island of Kefalonia.
